About her
Started independent life as a student of dance and then drama followed by a random pivot to science. Spent many years developing national and international research partnerships. I loved the human side of it — discovering other cultures, different perspectives and bringing people together to do more better.
Grown up surrounded by theatre, music and the arts. Music has always been important to me: I play cello in a local orchestra, sing in a choir and work every year at Glastonbury - love the mix.
Born and made in London but spent much of my early life escaping to the countryside, including holidays working on a hill farm in North Wales, before I finally made the break to the country in the late 90s. Never looked back - nature and wildlife are still central to my life and also my job.
My PhD took me into the desert, where I acquired the Land Rover bug; I now have a small collection of old vehicles, including a 1949 LR, 1956 tractor and a couple of little Pugs. Been pondering on an electric conversion of the Morris Minor 🤔.
I love old and worn things - they tell a story, and bringing back to life neglected houses and turning them into a home has been a continuing thread. I’m curious, practical and passionate about lots of things — from art and design to woodworking, yoga, DIY and creating a haven for wildlife on my patch of land. Retirement doesn’t really appeal, although I may soon trade some paid work for another project or two. A natural swimming pool is currently somewhere on the list…
I’ve never been without a dog, and have a dynamic collection of poultry and a few borrowed sheep. Three grown-up children making their own lives but still very much part of mine.
I’m comfortable in my own skin and very independent, but life is better together. After 30 years of a happy marriage, I miss the warmth, intimacy and companionship of having someone to share with — the everyday as well as the adventures — while still having space for our own passions.

Sense of humour top of the list - I don’t take myself too seriously but still love a good debate. Forward looking and optimistic - we all have baggage but it shouldn’t hold us back. Someone who is creative and good with their hands is important - I am a very capable and practical person and would love and respect someone who also has that creative passion and eye for design. If you could teach me how to get to grips with old car maintenance that would be a plus! Ideally would hope to find someone local who I can get to know slowly with a view to a shared future and real love and partnership. If you have an interest in restoring nature and care for the environment then we will shared values. Need to like dogs (I have two)!
